2011年のロードレース世界選手権は、FIMロードレース世界選手権の第63回大会となる。

シーズンの概要 編集

125ccクラスはこのシーズンが最後の開催となり、2012年からは4ストローク250cc単気筒のMoto3クラスに改編となる[1]。

MotoGPクラスでは2012年より排気量の上限が1000ccへと拡大される事から、800ccエンジンのみで争われるのはこのシーズンが最後となった[2]。7度の最高峰クラスチャンピオンであるバレンティーノ・ロッシがヤマハからドゥカティに移籍、2007年チャンプのケーシー・ストーナーはドゥカティからホンダに移った。2010年チャンプのホルヘ・ロレンソとランキング2位のダニ・ペドロサはそれぞれヤマハ、ホンダに残留、ベン・スピーズがヤマハワークスに昇格しロレンソのチームメイトを務めた。ルーキーとしてはスーパーバイク世界選手権からカル・クラッチロー、Moto2クラスからカレル・アブラハムの二人を迎えた。

グランプリ 編集

2010年9月30日、全18戦からなる開催カレンダーがFIMより発表された[3]。また2011年3月15日、当初のカレンダーでは4月22 - 24日に第3戦として開催予定だった日本GPは、東日本大震災のために9月30日 - 10月2日に延期された[4][5]。
