イシヅチゴケ

イシヅチゴケ（Oedipodium griffithianum）は、イシヅチゴケ綱の唯一の種である。この種はユーラシア大陸の寒冷部やアラスカ州、ワシントン州、ブリティッシュコロンビア州、ユーコン準州、グリーンランド、ニューファンドランド・ラブラドール州、ティエラ・デル・フエゴ及びフォークランド諸島等に分布する[4]。

イシヅチゴケ綱と他のコケとの関係には多くの議論がある。このタクソンは、かつてヒョウタンゴケ目またはオオツボゴケ目に分類されていたが、原糸体や無性生殖の特徴、また分子学的な証拠により、ヨツバゴケ綱により近いことが明らかとなった[4]。
